After Sunday AM brunch and a mimosa or two at the lovely Old Pecan St. Cafe Ryan took me over to the Capital Building for my first look inside...GASP
I know, I am a native Texan and this was my first trip to the Capital Building. When Ryan was a child his GG took him to feed the squirrels in the lawn so he decided to show me what it was all about.
It was nothing short of AH-MAY-ZING!!!
By this time we had mosey-ed on over to some squirrels that were playing by a local urban outdoors man which made us a little nervous since we really weren't in the mood to be hit up for cash every five seconds...
Well this was the coolest guy ever! Totally restored my faith in urban outdoors men everywhere! He didn't ask for anything, laughed and talked with us about the squirrels and THEN.....offered me $1.00 for a half drank Diet DP!!! He thought it looked good since it was so hot out and the 7-11 was so far away. Boy did we oblige and GIVE him the DP!!
Now let me ask you when has an urban outdoors man ever OFFERED you money? On that note we gave the guy a ten spot gave him God's blessings and told him we hoped it helped. Boy was he happy to have it so he could get something to eat at Wendy's!
What a day, God is good!
