Christmas at the Casa de Griffith...

*Warning* image heavy post...

Christmas in our casa was magical to say the least, we gussied up our little abode and all anxiously awaited Santa's arrival!

Even Cookie Louise got into the spirit with her faux fur sweater and best smile...

Looks like the Griffiths were on the nice list this year...whew

wow, cashmere how luxurious!

What a surprise, amazing boots!

Cousin Cody, Moi, Pamcakes...

Ashley & Special Kay

Great minds think alike...

Scrumptious PJs...

How blessed we all were this and every Christmas. All of the gifts were nice but none could compare to the gift the Lord gave us all on December 25th and that is His Son! What an amazing present, a Savior to bring us all grace!!

Happy New Year and Blessings to you

Cookies for Ryan...

If you haven't already had my signature cookies...I am truly sorry...seriously... because they are to DIE for!

Just ask the Mister, he doesn't even eat sweets but requested these yummies last night. What are these special cookies you ask... well they are German Chocolate Cake Cookies!

Do you want the recipe? Man, I don't know if I should give it to you... you will have a hard time not making these into your signature cookies and then if we are invited to the same party what will I bring?

Ok, ok you twisted my arm... I will give you the recipe as long as you understand that if by chance we are to be at the same gathering you are NOT allowed to bring MY special cookies :)

German Chocolate Cake Cookies

You will need:

1 Box of German Chocolate Cake Mix ( I prefer Duncan Heinz)
1 Cup Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips
1/2 Cup of Rolled Oats
1/2 Cup of Chopped Pecans
2 Slightly Beaten Eggs
1/2 Cup of Oil

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and mix all of your ingredients well. Spoon onto cookie sheets and bake for 8 or 9 minutes depending on how soft you like your cookies.

These are sure to be a hit for your holiday festivities... feel free to add coconut flakes to the batter or on top as your cookies bake!

Enjoy...

A Wedding Anniversary...

Two whole years ago around this time I was in perfectionist mode getting ready to go get my hair done for my wedding. Did I mention that I had been violently ill with the flu the entire week and by today my face was raw from the copious amounts of nose blowing that had taken place the past week. I remember just kind of floating through the day setting things up, getting pampered really in a haze of sorts. I was totally the little girl who grew up thinking about her wedding day putting on my mothers half slips as make-shift wedding dresses and veils. However, I always worried that I wouldn't have that bridal moment as I knew the tradition of the bride's parents paying for the wedding and knew that wasn't in my future.

It's crazy just how aware we are of certain things as children... so needless to say I was kind of amazed that the day had actually come and although my parents weren't paying for the wedding I was still having the day that every little girl dreams of.

I remember standing upstairs in the beautiful George Blucher House B&B hearing that the guys had arrived and looking out of the window to see the guests taking their places. It was almost go time and I am getting nervous just typing about it. Walking down the isle to my favorite Frank Sinatra song (Moonlight Serenade) and seeing my love's face was a moment I will never forget. Once I got up to the porch it was only Ryan, Myself and Pastor Ed there no one else existed for those few minuets.

The two became one in that moment and we joyfully walked around to the courtyard to get the party started. After pictures were finished we made our entrance to the reception to the Wedding Singers "Wanna Grow Old With You"... no truer words have ever been sung...he really does let me hold the remote control!

Seeing many wonderful friends, great music, dancing, BBQ, beautiful speeches, spice cake with cream cheese icing and a sparkler exit...the night just flew by! What a beautiful evening a picture perfect wedding and marriage to my bestest friend. I am so glad we will have this story to share with our future children and grandchildren about the day the Casa de Griffith was established.

So much has changed in the past two years...so much for the better. I am so looking forward to what 2011 and our next year together has in store for us...I can't wait for the day that the Lord provides us with a precious child to show the world what an amazing friendship and a beautiful expression of love can produce... here is to a lifetime of love to come...

Painting With The Gals...

So in case you haven't heard there is this cool new place in corpus where over the course of three hours you learn how to execute and leave with a painting. This past Friday that's exactly what myself and some of my best girly friends did...

The night was filled with lots and lots of laughs both at ourselves and others artistic abilities! We bonded and learned a lot about ourselves and the best part had a pretty great painting to take home and remember the evening by...even if it doesn't match our decor and we have no where to hang it! (you know who you are)

Thanks ladies for an awesome evening...and thanks Tipsycanvas.com for providing the fun!
